Remember the Veterans Today, A Fly By for Rocky

11/11 at 11:11am Remember the Veterans. My dad was WWII, so was my friend's dad Rocky who just passed on just 7 days ago. We are losing our brave WWII generation veterans so quickly these days. Someone must tell their stories.

As a kid I would remember seeing really old men at the 4th of July parades, they were vets from WWI the war to end all wars. It seemed strange to see these guys, as years went on there were less and less of them until no more WWI vets were at the parades.

Well sadly the world didn't get the message and wars have continued. Our best of the best have bravely defended freedom for you and me. I am sure they wouldn't ask for anything from us, I however will ask for them. Please make it a point to say hello and thank you to a veteran today.

Instead of spending the day shopping, take a moment to stop and thank a vet, support the families who share their loved ones on our behalf and say a prayer for those who still serve.

God Bless America, God bless our boys and girls who have served and who serve today.

Same night of the Three Queens sailing.

Just a great sunset shot I got when I was shooting the three queens.

The reason for pictures over a year old is my camera has been in for repair for two weeks. I should have it back this week

Another note, I showed you guys that picture before, the one of my thyroid, remember? Well I am going to be operated on November 18th. I have not missed a day yet in this blog this year. I plan on not missing a day. Wish me luck.

The Queens Elizabeth and Victoria

Last year something special happened in NY Harbor. The three queens from England met up by the Statue of Liberty for the Queen Victoria's maiden voyage. There are only two in this shot, the Queen Mary II was already at the Statue when I shot this. I followed the ships south and low and behold it started pouring when I got there. The three ships did meet though and had a massive party with fireworks and all. It was something to see, though I got soaked. LOL. Though I never got the shot of that, it was something that will never happen again. It was special.

Full blown fall in Warwick, NY

On my way home from my mom's I caught this little gem. Jumped out of my car and shot a few, this was the best I think. Look for this soon on my SmugMug page.

JCFD Honor Guard

This was a shot I setup with some of Jersey City's bravest. They gathered at Exchange Place to honor the USS NY when it came into the harbor and this was shot afterward.

Anyone on the JCFD please contact me for copies of this image. Thank you all for your service.

USS NY Comes home.

7.5 tons of steel from the fallen World Trade Center buildings was use to build the bow of the new US Navy ship. This is it's first trip back to the place where it stood for 30 years as a testament to our power as a country because of our founding documents and founders.

May it ever sail the seas and show that besides the olive branch we carry sharp swords and we can weild them swiftly.

God Bless America, God Bless the USS NY, God bless the men and women who through the goodness of their hearts protect us willingly.

I am but a humble admirer and conveyor of truth so you can see what majesty our might casts into the world.

Hitchcock Inspired Flight

Somebody threw some bread on the sidewalk and the pigeons were having their version of Thanksgiving dinner. I ran up to block to get a shot, every time someone walked by the birds flew up and then returned back to the bread. It was a blast I got so many shots. This guy happen to walk by with a bunch of his friends and he let me shoot him running through the birds. It was fun.

I love this women...Joy

I loved this women. We had a prolonged discussion on the value of a bottle of water. $3.75 for filtered tap water, she was a doll and we just laughed together because we understood the value of a buck. I asked if I could shoot her beautiful smile and she said yes. Titled "Joy."

LED's the new hot lighting thing...

How can I tell? Well the price. This shot was done with only a 12 inch by 12 inch bank of LED's. Light emitting diodes. These little things are so bright and use hardly any electricity it is amazing. The price is about $2000 for that little light. You would need a bunch of these to make it practical but I thought I would shoot a shot based on just this one light.

If you ever watch NASCAR on ESPN or ABC the lighting used is all LED. They have the money. Another thing about LED hot lights is, they are cool like in not hot at all they give off very little heat. When I can get these lights for what it really costs to make each one which I guess is about $20 of parts, then fine but for now only the rich and famous have them.
